Baby clothes

I should have known this fact, but I suppose it slipped my mind being a first-time mom: you can't go by the size label for baby clothes! I noticed recently that Jack's clothes were starting to get tighter and tighter, but all the labels read 3-6 months. I thought, hey, he's only 3 months old, so why are these so small? So today for fun, I thought I'd put on a 6-month shirt. Well what do you know, it's almost too tight already! (see above for illustration). I'm sure all you moms out there have already experienced this size dilemma (or maybe the opposite for extra small babies), but I guess I just didn't realize it.

Oh, by the way, Jack really does smile a lot, but as soon as I lift up the camera, he gets this blank expression because he's trying to figure out what in the world I'm holding. I tell him to say "cheese," but he just won't cooperate. Even if I'm not holding the camera, but off to the side trying to get him to smile, he's still fascinated by the camera. Oh well. We'll work on it!

I have had a difficult time with the sizes too. But the really frustrating part for me comes when you are sorting them for later use (packing them away) and you have to mix up the sizes based on your memory of how accurate the fit really was. :)
