Happy First Birthday to Callie!

Our sweet little Callie is one whole year old today! She had a bit of a rough start in the hospital when she was born, but you definitely wouldn't know it today!

Callie is a happy little girl. She loves to giggle and smile, but she can also be shy when people talk to her-she likes to bury her face in Mom or Dad's shoulder to hide. She loves watching her brother and wants to do everything he does. She is almost walking. She can stand up on her own in the middle of the room, but just hasn't gained the confidence to move forward yet.

She says, "Uh-oh," and, "All done," and can sign "more." She waves bye bye and loves to give hugs and kisses. She likes to clap her hands for pat-a-cake and cover her eyes for peek-a-boo. She is learning and growing every day. We love her very much!

We had cake and ice cream after dinner. Callie was a little confused about the candle. We should have done some practice candles before the real thing.

Once she got her first taste of cake, she was all over it. She loved every minute of eating that cake!

Mmmm... so delicious...

And here's the big mess for us to clean up.

After cake and ice cream, we opened presents. Callie had tons of fun exploring her new toys.

She got a pony to ride! Every girl's dream!

She also got her very first baby doll, which she immediately snuggled up with.

She is about to give her doll a big, big hug! She loves soft toys.

We're helping her learn to be a loving mommy to her own little babies someday!

She also got another soft toy that plays music and talks to her. We programmed it to say her name.

She was pretty excited about this toy, too.

One toy that Jack was particularly interested in was the ball popper toy. Jack had played with this toy before, so he knew just what to do!

Callie quickly caught on and loved catching the balls as they popped out of the top.

Jack liked to feel the air blasting out of the hole where the balls shoot out.
