Callie is 6 months old! Woo hoo! Well, she actually turned 6 months old almost two weeks ago, but this post is a little overdue. She just got her first little tooth, with a second following closely.
Whenever we're going to "retire" one of Callie's dresses, we try to get a picture or two of her in it, since they're so stinkin' cute. This particular dress is pretty, but it seemed kind of itchy, so we'll capture it in film and move on!
Another event that has been overdue is Callie starting solid foods. We waited until she was 6 months old, as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Actually, it saves money to wait. If you start feeding solids at 4 months, that's two extra months of food you have to buy, when you could wait until 6 months. It makes financial sense, people!
Anyway, we waited until she was 6 months old, but then she got a pretty bad cold (along with Jack), so we waited a little longer.
And here are the results of her first meal. We've decided to skip the spoon-feeding and purees and all that, and we're just giving her soft foods she can feed herself. You can see her really squishing that banana with her little fist.
She's wearing a monkey bib since she's eating a banana. She really seemed to enjoy finally being able to sit at the table and participate in meal time. Normally during meals, she is either sitting on someone's lap grabbing at anything she can reach, or she is wandering around the table in her walker, staring at us and smacking her lips.
Well, maybe this bite wasn't quite as good as the others. All in all, she did very well for her first time. She made a huge sticky mess and hardly ate anything, but she'll pick it up quickly. We've got some mango and pear in store for her soon!
She is such a happy baby. People are always commenting on how smiley she is. She loves to laugh and squeal and, of course, smile the day away.
It is so fun to see Jack and Callie interacting these days. She thinks he is the funniest thing since sliced bread (okay, sliced bread isn't particularly funny, so bad example), and he thinks it's great when she laughs at him and grabs his arm.

What a cute baby!! Just look at that smile! You cut your bananas up so nicely too. I should work on my technique a bit. i just tear it up with my fingers. Maybe my baby would enjoy his finger food more. :)
Jack and Callie's realtionship sounds like Joseph and Alice. She thinks he's hillarious! I don't get her to laugh as much as he can. Unfortunatly, she usually thinks he's funny when he's doing somthing that he shouldn't, like jumping on the couch.
