Jack's 3rd Birthday!

Jack's birthday is technically tomorrow, but we celebrated today so Dad could be around. We definitely had a busy day, but Jack had tons of fun! Here he is starting to open his presents in the morning.

Jack was very excited about all the cool new food he now has for his kitchen. He also got a Playhut toy (tunnels and tents) with a little ball pit to play in. (We have some video of that we will post later.)  And he got a couple of cool DS games with Elmo and Cookie Monster.

The kids had so much fun crawling through the tunnels and playing in the ball pit. It's set up in the living room right now, but it will make its way downstairs soon!

It might as well be Callie's birthday, too, with all the fun she gets to have. She played with all the new toys, got to eat the cake, and had just as much fun as Jack did!

On one side of the biggest tent that comes in this particular playhut set, you can throw the little plastic balls into a "basketball" hoop and into these little holes. We're looking forward to tons of fun with this great toy!

This year we went with a Curious George cake. Jack loves to read this little monkey's books and watches the Curious George show on PBS. He also makes a pretty tasty cake!

Jack was very excited to blow out the candle. He was the one who picked out his "3" candle at the store. He kept asking all morning to put the candle on and "start the fire." We told him he had to wait until after lunch, which we ate at McDonald's for a special treat. He did a great job blowing out the candle and now his wish will come true!

Callie loved the cake, but she didn't really like getting the frosting all over her hands. She's not as finicky about it as Jack always has been, but it's still not fun to have sticky, messy hands!

After the kids took their naps (with bellies full of cake), we went to Toys R Us to pick out a special birthday toy. Jack got a Mr. Potato Head and a Remote-Control car. He was very happy. Next, we had dinner at Red Robin, at Jack's request. The folks there sang Happy Birthday to him and gave him a special birthday sundae. It was pretty much the best birthday ever. We then drove home after a long day of fun, fun, fun!
