Callie Turns Two!

Callie turned two years old today! We didn't really do anything on her actual birthday because we celebrated last Saturday. She's young enough that she doesn't know the difference! We wanted to celebrate early because Grandma Culwell was still visiting and we thought it would be  more of a party.

We started off the day by going to the mall. They threw pennies in the fountain (pictured above), as we always do. It's funny that such a simple thing can be so much fun for the kiddos.

We had to ride the carousel, too, of course. Dad had Callie giggling and waving to Grandma the whole time. Jack gets the benefits of Callie's birthday celebration, too!

Our main purpose for visiting the mall was for Callie to pick out her birthday toy from the toy store. Since Callie loves stuffed animals, we steered her toward a Curious George sock monkey.

 She likes him.

We ate lunch at the mall, then went home for nap time (birthday girls are not excused from naps.) Then we had cake, opened presents, and ate pancakes and eggs for dinner!

Callie's party was pink and orange (orange is her favorite color), with Hello Kitty everywhere (since Callie loves cats.)

We did a "girly" theme for presents. There were a lot of princess-related and/or pink presents given.

We're trying to build up a collection of dress-up clothes for the kids, so we got this super-girly princess dress, complete with wand and crown-- preferably not to be used by Jack...

These pictures were actually taken the next day (the Sunday we blessed Ryan), but they are cute, so they're getting posted here! The kids had fun playing with the decorations after the party was over.

Grandma Culwell bought Callie a pretty spring dress. She is getting to be such a big girl!

She loves her little princess cat. (Yes, the cat has a pink crown...)
