Ideas for Play

This Saturday we decided to hang out in our PJ's all day and try out some of the ideas on the blog, http://playathomemom3.blogspot.com. Who would have thought to take a plastic sheet, tape it together, and fill it up with air?

Obviously, close adult supervision is necessary. All plastic bags everywhere have warnings all over them about keeping them away from children.

But, really, what kid doesn't want to jump into a giant plastic bubble?

Ryan didn't get to try out the giant plastic bag toy, but he got to watch from the sidelines.

We're lucky that we have enough space in our basement to try out this idea inside. It was quite rainy today, so it was nice to relax inside and have fun.

It looks a little crazy to see it from this angle- like the kids are trapped and they're going to suffocate! They both loved it, though. We'll keep it around for another time!

Another idea from the blog- a light table. The nice wooden tables cost a couple hundred dollars. Therefore, we made one out of a plastic storage container!

Jack loves to mix colors and discover what new colors he can make. He used a red ruler and a blue ruler to make purple!

The idea behind playing with a light table is allowing children to find a new perspective. They're good for sensory play and just making old toys new again.

We found these plastic cups at the dollar store and thought they'd be cool to try out. And, yes, they are shot glasses! Haha. The kids don't need to know that, though.

The finished pyramid.

And Jack about to knock over the finished pyramid!
