We had been debating for a while about whether or not to get a fish for the kids. Grandma Marshall bought us a bowl for Christmas and we decided to go for it. We picked up a Betta fish and Jack named him Peter. He lived happily in his little bowl for a while, until we noticed it was cracked! Oops. It was leaking slowly from the bottom, so we had to replace it quickly. We actually decided to get a bigger aquarium with a filter, which would make it less work to clean and maintain. Peter seems happy in his new home.
P.S. Just because we have a fish does not open the door to other, larger animals. One fish is plenty for this household!
It had been a while since we had visited the Museum of Play during the day (we did go in December, but it was a bit of a disaster), so we decided to skip school one day and head out there. The kids were especially excited since it had been so long.
Ryan rode along on Mom's back. He was supposed to be taking a nap, but he was just too interested in what was going on around him. He can be quite stubborn sometimes!
Jack and Callie did a lot together. It is so fun to see them really playing together now that they are getting older. They have conversations that actually make sense, they share with each other, and they help each other. That's not to say they don't quarrel from time to time, but they genuinely seem to like each other, so that's always good!
We found these cool magnetic toys to play with. Jack is pretty fascinated by magnets. He has been really interested in science, in general, lately.
Jack wanted to show Callie the "proper" way to cut with scissors. As much fun as they have together, sometimes Jack causes some arguing because he wants to make Callie do things the right way (which is, of course, the way Jack says it must be done!) Callie is usually a good sport, though.
Callie tried on a few capes in the Super Hero exhibit.
Jack tried to tell Callie she had to walk on the black line. She wasn't interested. :o)
Callie loves hopscotch!
