The kids just keep on growing. Ryan turned 5 years old on December 27th. He's in preschool this year, but next year he'll be in Kindergarten. He is very excited about that!
He requested multi-colored decorations with lots of polka dots.
After opening some gifts upstairs, Ryan got to head down to the playroom and see his "grand finale" present. A ball pit!
It's actually made from a pet play pen (small dogs or cats), but it works perfectly for a ball pit. It's portable and has tall sides to hold the balls.
Ryan picked out his decorations at the store and then decorated his own cake (except the circle of skittles around the edge.) He chose a lemon cake with lemon frosting, which is mom's favorite, so that was fine!
After cake we went to Toys R Us, where Ryan picked out a super cool RC helicopter. Then it was off to Chuck E Cheese's!
We hadn't been to Chuck E Cheese's in a while, and as parents, it was pretty disappointing. They took all the climbing toys out and increased the token prices. The games were often out of tickets, and when they weren't, they hardly gave any tickets at all. At least the kids had a lot of fun, though!
The kids enjoyed spending their tokens and ran all over the place having a lot of fun!
Jack was there, too, but he just took his cup of coins and ran off to play!
Ryan had a great birthday and we are still very happy to have him in our family. It's hard to believe the little baby who only weighed 3lbs at birth is now our 5-year-old!
