Discovery Days

We took Jack to Oregon State University's "Discovery Days" on campus today. Apparently it's this big science-type exhibit thing for the local children where they can learn about many different science-related topics. (I know that's a little vague, but I don't really know what it is). The picture above is Jack in front of a frog. I don't think he could actually see the frog because it was green, and so was the leaf behind it. He probably just thought he was looking at some plants in a glass box.

He did kind of notice the snakes, since they were actually moving and were different colors. His favorite, though, was a display of birds (for some reason they were in the reptile room) because he has been learning about birds at home lately. He knows they go "tweet, tweet" and are brightly colored.

And in this picture, Jack is hissing like a snake. We showed him the snakes in the boxes, and told him they go "Ssssssss," and soon enough, Jack was hissing back at them. It was cute. He's really into animal noises right now. Oh, and lights. He loves flashlights, lamps, overhead lights... pretty much any light he sees, he has to point it out and say "dye," which is his word for "light."
