Well. Jack had a little accident today at play group. It was right before we were about to leave and he was coming toward me in a big gravel path. I guess he was going too fast because he totally wiped out and hit his head into the gravel. It's a good thing he was wearing long pants- otherwise he would have gravel in his knees, too!
It doesn't look bad in the pictures, but the flash kind of minimized the swelling and purpleness of it all. It didn't bleed too much, but it looked pretty painful. Unfortunately, we had family pictures scheduled for this Saturday at JCPenney, but that's just not going to happen now. I guess we'll reschedule!
After he fell down, he cried for a little while, but got over it pretty quickly. He then started getting upset because his hands had gravel and dirt all over them. He wanted a wipe. We talked about getting a bandaid, and he seemed to like that idea, but he still didn't understand that he had a big gash on his head. When we got home, he looked in the mirror and just stared at himself for awhile. Then he said, "Owie right THERE!" and pointed to his forehead.
In other news, we got a double stroller today and took it around the block to try it out. We took a while to decide which type of double stroller to get, since there are several different styles.
We finally decided on a stroller that allows Jack to either sit or stand, and Callie can ride in the front. The price was right and it fits in the trunk of our car. Maybe if we had a minivan or something, we would have gotten something a little bigger. Jack is actually supposed to be sitting facing back, or standing facing forward, but he prefers to hang his feet into the storage area!
After our walk, we hung out in the driveway for a while. Jack wanted to try out some sidewalk chalk, and Callie just wanted to hang out in her bumbo seat. She is getting pretty mobile lately. She's rolling all over her bed and scooting a bit. She also has started getting up on her hands and knees and rocking a little bit. It seems too early for her to start crawling!
Here's Jack signing his art. Well, he had Mommy sign his name, and he just put the finishing touches on.
