That Fresh Pine Smell

This year was the first year we were able to get a real Christmas tree. It was pretty fun to go out to the Christmas Tree farm and pick just the right tree for our home. (Don't mind Jack's goofy face- sometimes he takes "cheese" a little too far!)

We got to saw it down and haul it away, so we know it was nice and fresh!

Jack started getting kind of cold and grumpy toward the end. We forgot his gloves and he had been touching the snow. Numb hands are no fun for anyone!

This was our first experience tying a tree to our car. Dad did a pretty good job!

We brought the tree home, let it defrost with some towels underneath, then got out the decorations. Callie was so excited to see all the new toys to play with. It's so great that they can make plastic ornaments that look just like the shiny glass ones, but won't break and cause injuries.

Here's Jack helping out with the decorations. He was very excited about the tree!

Jack and Dad putting the finishing touches on the tree. We got a light-up star for the topper!

Here are Callie and Jack enjoying the festive atmosphere. We had Christmas music playing while the whole family helped decorate the tree! Well, Callie mostly got into things and made messes, but it was still fun!

Here are Mom and Callie posing by the tree. We're all so excited for the holidays!

We were a little late, but Jack and Dad also got around to filling the advent Calendar. Now we can have Christmas candy every day!

Heh, we got the advent calendar out on Friday.
Thankfully, there were just enough Kisses left to put in the doors (Mom opened the bag and kept eating them).
