The kids have been wanting to get to the beach for a while, and we finally made our way out there today. It's only about 45 minutes from our house, so it's not a super long trip. They had tons of fun!
Jack really wanted to make sand castles, and Callie was all about swimming in the water. It actually wasn't terribly hot today, so she didn't get in the water, but she still had fun splashing a little bit!
Ryan was there, too, although he spent a lot of the time sleeping in his little bed. He really liked watching the waves and just hanging out with us.
The kids enjoyed the beach playground.
And they both loved the swings, as usual.
After Ryan was feeling awake enough, we took a walk down a long pier to an old lighthouse that is no longer functioning. There's no rail on the pier, so it made us worry that the kids would trip and fall into the water. They were good listeners, though, and stayed away from the edges.
We made it to the lighthouse!
Dad let them stand at the edge- very carefully!
Cuties holding hands.
Jack got to fly his kite after we got back from the lighthouse. He really enjoyed that!
This is how Ryan spent most of his time at the beach. He loves to sleep.
Our happy little man!
