Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland

This winter has been extremely cold in many parts of the country. Here in New York we've had wind chills down to -30 degrees. That's cold! So even though we've had snow, the kids haven't had much time to play in it. It's just not as fun when little hands and feet freeze after just a couple of minutes outside! While Grandma was visiting, Luke got to stay warm and cozy inside while the other kids got to briefly play in the yard. This was Ryan's first time actually walking in snow!

Ryan loved it, but he got cold quickly.

Jack has been itching to go sledding, but we haven't coordinated a time when Dad is home from work and the weather is cooperating. Jack settled for a few snow angels for now.

Callie has been asking to make a snowman, but the snow is too powdery so far.

Before Grandma Culwell left, we managed to get a picture with all the kiddos. Luke has a strange habit of pulling his head back as far as he can. He does it when he sleeps and even when we hold him sometimes. Maybe he is just trying to grow as tall as he can!

Luke also has a habit of smiling a lot, more than the other three kids ever did. He smiles in his sleep and even when he is awake. We know he is not actually smiling on purpose yet, but it is still so funny to see. We'll have to try to capture some of his little grins on camera. The one pictured above is just the beginning!

Wow, -30 is certainly cold enough! Loved Ryan's picture of his face all red from the cold but a bright smile on his face!
