We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! We are so very grateful for the chance to celebrate this holiday and remember Jesus Christ and his resurrection. The kids are still a little young to grasp the concept, but they know Easter is about Jesus living again. Our children's sweet innocence is a nice reminder of what Jesus Christ's sacrifice has made possible for our family.
Here are some pictures of the kiddos in their Sunday best. We didn't get a chance to include Luke in the group shots, but he's there in spirit! Some days it really hits us that we have four children!
We curled Callie's hair before church and it actually stayed pretty well!
Ryan is such a handsome little guy.
And Jack, our oldest, is getting so big every day. He is going to be such a wonderful man!
Luke loves to smile and we've even gotten a chuckle out of him a few times. His older siblings love to hug and kiss him. He definitely has plenty of entertainment around him!
We were in kind of a hurry to get group pictures taken before church, so... this is what we got! We'll try again some other time!
After church, we did a treasure hunt for their Easter baskets. Apparently it is now a set tradition that we must follow every year (according to Jack.) That just means Mom has to come up with a bunch of clues, hide them around the house, and then the kids get to follow the clues to their hidden baskets!
We didn't dye eggs this year because... well... Mom didn't feel like it, but the kids didn't even notice. We'll do better next year!
We did, however, do another Easter egg hunt at home. Instead of outside, though, we did ours in the basement. And instead of regular eggs, we made them glow! This idea came from the "Play-at-home Mom" blog, which has tons of ideas for fun activities. We got little LED finger lights (apparently people use them when they're partying at clubs or something), and they fit perfectly in the eggs with room for candy. It's kind of a pain to turn them all on and stuff the eggs, but it was worth it!
This is one side of the basement after the eggs were distributed. This side has no windows, so it stays nice and dark!
The other side of the basement does have a sliding glass door, so it's a little brighter, but the eggs still glowed nicely. Some families might do a glowing egg hunt outside at night, but our kids don't stay up that late!
Here are Jack and Callie with their glowing baskets. Our camera doesn't take the best pictures in the dark, but they get the idea across.
And here are the kids checking out their candy and the lights. Jack put a bunch on his fingers and danced around in the dark. Fun times!
