Jack joined the scouts this year and he had the chance to participate in the Pinewood Derby back in February. He was very excited. Jack and Dad worked together to design and build the car.
Jack was really hoping to win, but we told him not to get his hopes up too high. This was our first attempt at building a car and we weren't expecting to win.
As it turns out, Jack did win! He got first place overall for speed, winning almost every race his car was in. At the very end of the derby, while they were racing the final 6 fastest cars, another car crashed into Jack's car at the end and it seems that his car got a little misaligned. After that, his car slowed down a little for the last 2 races.
Jack painted his car red, with a yellow lightning bolt across the middle, grey clouds at the top, and raindrops going down. He had a great time!
He had a great time!
The rest of us had fun watching, too!
And after the derby, Ryan got to attend his friend's birthday party. It was a Halloween-themed party (in February), so Ryan got to get his face painted like a skeleton. Fun times!
