Summer Time Bucket List

We have had a great summer. At the end of the school year, we made a "Fun List" of things we wanted to do throughout the summer. We listed things like "road trip," and "movie theater" and "museum of play," and then Ryan wanted to add "eat steak!" The only thing we didn't manage to squeeze in was a trip to the Zoo, but I think the kids will be okay.

Here are the kids at the movies, watching "Finding Dory." Our local theater has reclining seats with foot rests. Pretty sweet!

One evening, the kids took an early bath, got dressed in PJ's, and we drove out to Dairy Queen for ice cream! While we sat in the parking lot eating our ice cream, this rainbow was right in front of us. It was a cool night!

The kids went to the library to learn about Jackson Pollack and his splatter style of painting. Then they went outside and tried it out!

On Mom's "Bucket List" was a half-marathon. Done and done!

Our trip to the Museum of Play, of course!

We signed up the three older kids for swimming lessons this summer. Luke waiting patiently (kind of) on the bleachers during their lessons. Next year, he'll be old enough for the "Tot Class."

Each child got to jump off the diving board multiple times. They were very excited to give it a try!

Ryan got to the end and then got scared, so the teacher dropped him in from the diving board.

Jack made a lot of progress and he is looking forward to take more lessons next year.

Jack and Callie got to take a painting class and learn how to paint this cool butterfly. It was a really good experience for them, and now they have a cool piece of art to display.
