Jack is sick. Sad but true. He had a fever for about a week, but we weren't sure it was anything serious since he had no other symptoms. Finally we decided to take him to the doctor. It was then established that Jack has tonsillitis. Unfortunately, it looks like this might be something he will have to deal with for quite a while. His Mom had tonsil issues and so did his Dad. It might come down to removing those bothersome things when he is 4 or 5.

Lucky for him, though, he gets to eat
popsicles and otter pops. As part of his sickness, he developed a completely stuffed up nose, so he couldn't nurse or drink a bottle. He wasn't getting any liquids in at all and had a high fever of 103.5 degrees.

He is in relatively good spirits for being so sick. Here he is showing us his
popsicle. He said it was very cold, but felt good on his throat.

Here he is in his
jammies with his
blankie and Santa. One good thing about his illness is that he goes to sleep pretty much immediately after being put in bed. As soon as he acts cranky, we just walk into his room, lay him down, and he's out. Unfortunately for us, though, he can't sleep at night very well, so he's up at all hours.

He's snoring like a madman lately, too. He usually does snore anyway, but now it's like a chainsaw/moose sleeping in his room. We're really hoping for a fast recovery for his sake and for ours. So keep him in mind and cross your fingers that he will feel better soon. He's glad to have his friend, Santa, for support and comfort.

Maybe it's a moose with a chainsaw that's hiding out in his throat...
