We celebrated Jack's birthday on Saturday with a fun birthday party/barbecue. We invited a few of Jack's friends (okay, his
only friends) and their parents. Also, Grandpa and Grandma Culwell were able to come down from Washington, along with Aunt Miriam.

Here is the happy family partying down. Yay for Jack's birthday!

The spread. Mm mm good.

Here is Jack trying his birthday cake. It's a pumpkin-apple cake with whipped cream/cream cheese frosting. We were trying to find a "healthy" birthday cake.

And here is Jack, not wanting to eat any cake. He was all off schedule this particular day, so he wasn't really in a partying mood.

So we moved on from cake, to opening presents. He didn't seem to mind this part too much. These are the fun blocks he got from Grandma and Grandpa Culwell.

**A quick fast-forward to Jack seeing the blocks all set up for the first time. He thought they were pretty cool and didn't even try to knock them down. I think he admired the art and skill.

Now back to the party. We decided to try to take a group picture. Our first attempt...

Attempt two...

Attempt three...

And attempt four...

We're so glad everyone was able to come and have fun celebrating Jack's birthday!

Yay! I found your blog (all because of facebook)! Isn't it great trying to get pictures of lots of little ones? I have a hard time just getting my two to sit long enough for a picture. Life looks like it's going good for you, that's so great! And, if I'm remembering right...are you moving to New York (or am I thinking of someone else)? Wow! Crazy where life takes us!
yay for Jack....wish we were there to celebrate with you!
