Jack's exciting Christmas

Merry Christmas, everyone! We're celebrating Christmas here in New York in our little house with just our little family. It has been a nice, quiet day so far. This morning Jack woke up and came out to see the tree. He found the pickle ornament first thing! Good job, Jack!

We took several pictures of Jack opening his presents in hopes of capturing his wide-eyed excitement at all the new toys. We should have known that Jack would not comply. It was pretty much a repeat of this past Halloween- basically no visible reaction.

He did very well with opening his presents on his own at first. He does enjoy ripping paper.

This is probably the most expression we could get from him all morning. He loves drums whenever he sees them, so we had to get him one of his own.

Here he is opening one of Grandma Culwell's presents.

He liked this present since he already has a smaller version for church. He knew just what to do with it.

As the presents kept coming, he needed some convincing to keep opening them. Maybe he was getting a little overwhelmed.

Here's his ultra-cool ducky robe he got from Grandma Marshall.

And a very cool tractor with a farmer, cow, and pig that pops out of the hay.

He actually really does like this toy, despite what his face may say. It's on the fridge now and he loves to choose different letters and hear the songs it sings.

Another cool alphabet toy. He likes the dog that barks after he names the letters.

Again, don't let his face fool you. He likes all his presents.

By the end, he wouldn't even try to open them anymore. He let his Dad do all the work for this one.

He really likes puzzles, so he was anxious to get them all out of the rack, then to open each one.

Phew! All done with the presents! Maybe next year we'll just stick with one or two presents so he stays interested in actually opening them!
