Dad got to come with us on our latest trip to the Museum of Play! The kids were excited to run around with both Dad and Mom and explore, yet again! We all worked together to build an arch. It was fun to build, but Jack had just as much fun knocking it down!
After all that work, the kids needed a break!
We saw a cool train set going around a big mountain. Jack was excited to see it going through the tunnel!
We decided to use Sander's vacation days every once in a while throughout the year and just do fun things around town as a family. We may not be able to take a long vacation, but at least we can spend time together during the weekdays when everything isn't so crowded! Of course, part of this particular day off was spent at the DMV to get Sander a new driver's license, but it was still "family time!"
Callie really enjoyed being able to be with her brother and play in the same area. She is growing up so fast- faster than Jack, it seems. That is probably because she has Jack to watch and imitate. She tries to do everything he does and often repeats the words he says. Jack encourages her when she talks. He'll say, "Oh, good job, Callie- You said 'shoe'!"
Callie tried to do a craft with Jack, too, but she was mostly interested in eating the scraps and crayons. Hopefully she will gain an interest in actually making fun things out of the paper instead of eating it!
The kids loved their carousel ride, as usual. Jack especially wanted a "sparkly" horse, so we picked one with jewels and gems.
Callie noticed all the smiling parents that surrounded the carousel and had fun smiling back at them. She was bouncing and laughing and having a great time!
