It's hot outside!

We went outside the other day and it was way too hot to just play around in the driveway. We decided to break out the little pool and sprinkler and have some water fun! The lawn could use some water, anyway!

Here's Jack relaxing by the pool. He liked playing in the pool, but refused to sit down in the water! It was probably a bit cold! The other day, we took Jack to the doctor for his 3-year well-check (a little late), and we'll share his stats:

Jack weighs 35lbs- he's in the 90th percentile
Jack is 38 1/2 inches tall- the 80th percentile

He's still a big boy. He's doing very well health-wise and is developing appropriately. It was kind of funny to see him get his eye-sight checked. They had him name several simple images up close at first, then showed him the images from far away while he covered his left eye, then right eye. Instead of describing the pictures in simple terms, Jack would add details. For example, instead of saying, "A cake," he would say (every time), "That's a birthday cake with candles on it." And instead of, "Horse," he said, "That's a man jumping on to a horse to ride it." He can be such a funny little man.We are very glad to have him in our family!

Jack didn't care to run through the sprinkler much, but he liked to fill up the cup with the spray!

Callie is such a happy little girl. Her smiles and giggles are very contagious. She loves laughing with Jack. Last week she was having a rough time because she was getting three molars in at the same time and then she came down with some kind of virus. She was not her usual self and it was sad to see. Luckily, she got those molars pushed through and recovered from her illness and now she is as happy as can be!

On another note, I recently finished a blanket for Callie. Jack has his precious "white blanket," and Callie has a purple blanket she loves to sleep with (sent from Great-Grandma Culwell), but it is just too big for her to carry around the house. So now she has a little pink blanket that resembles Jack's white one that she can drag around.

She still tries to bring her purple blanket out of bed, but we just tell her the purple is for sleeping, and the pink is for snuggling outside of the bed. She is a very cuddly little girl- she loves all things soft- so she is very glad to have her very own precious blanket!

This is another baby blanket I made recently. I meant for it to be bigger, but the stitches just took so long and took up a lot of yarn, so I decided it will be a small blanket for a baby to just lay on as a newborn or something. I meant to get a picture of Jack with the blanket, but he wanted to hide behind it.
